The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted by Congress in 1990 to protect individuals with disabilities from discrimination in access to employment, governmental services and programs, public accommodations, transportation, and telecommunications. The purpose of the ADA Transition Plan is to develop policies and practices for implementing physical improvements within the public buildings and rights-of-way in the City of Lake Worth Beach. About the Transition Plan The Act applies to all facilities, including facilities built before and after the law was enacted in 1990.
