Boards & Committees Welcome and Thank You for your Efforts to Volunteer! Cities often develop boards and various committees and appoint interested and qualified citizens to advise and make recommendations to the City Council. Utilizing boards may be advantageous to providing additional examination, as well as a broad range of ideas and expertise. There are certain boards that are designated by statute for purposes that are very specific, there may also be advisory boards permanently created at the discretion of the City Council by ordinance.
