Infill Redevelopment Act (SB 1434) What is the Infill Redevelopment Act? The Infill Redevelopment Act (Senate Bill 1434) was signed into law in 2026 (effective May 21, 2026) and is a statewide initiative aimed at reducing housing shortages within urban areas on properties with environmental issues that are challenging to redevelop. The specifics of the law can be found at Section 163.2525 , Florida Statutes. Establish that such facilities have not been in operation or in use for a period of at least 12 consecutive months; Pay double the applicable Parks and Recreational Facilities Impact Fees; and Provide written notice to all adjacent property owners offering the qualifying parcel for sale with a purchase price for the purpose of maintaining the parcel as recreational areas or open space.
