Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: Section 1. - Short title. The village council, at its first regular meeting after the fourth Tuesday of each March, shall elect from its membership a vice-mayor who shall serve at the pleasure of the village council and who shall have the same legislative powers and duties as the mayor or any other councilmember. During the period of suspension, the mayor or any councilmember shall not perform any official act, duty, or function, or receive any pay, allowance, emolument, or privilege of office. b. Special meetings may also be called upon the request of a majority of the councilmembers. Unless of an emergency nature, the person or persons calling such a meeting shall provide not less than 72 hours' prior notice of the meeting to the public. Schedule for general elections.
