Where our information comes from

Most of what appears here is read on a schedule from public sources: village, city and town agendas and notices, the county, the school district, the sheriff’s office, parks and library calendars, venue schedules and local publications. Local organizations can also send their own announcements through the Partner Inbox; a person reviews each submission before it is published, and it is labelled with who provided it.

The full list of sources, and the terms on which we use each one, is on the sources page.

Every fact is cited and dated

Every card, page and answer names its source and links to it, and shows when the information was published or gathered. When we do not have something confirmed, we say so rather than guess. Official notices always live with the agency that issued them; in an emergency, rely on official channels first.

We do not state what we cannot show. An event is only marked free when its source says it is free. A date we hold only as a meeting or agenda date is shown as scheduled, not as a publication date.

We link; we don't reprint

For news publishers we publish a headline, a short summary and a link — never the article itself. Their words remain theirs, and the full story is always one click away at the source. A page on this site about someone else’s story says so, and credits that publisher.

Independence and neutrality

Wellington Roundup is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Village of Wellington, Palm Beach County, any venue, publication or organization we cover. On contested local questions — including land-use and equestrian preserve matters — we publish facts, dates, documents and citations only. No endorsements, no sides.

Private individuals

We report on public bodies, organizations and events, not on private people. We do not publish home addresses from public registers, and pages meant for search engines do not list private individuals by name.

Artificial intelligence

We use AI — for the Fiona assistant, for some short editorial copy written only from items we can cite, and for illustrations. What it does, what it never does, and how it is labelled is set out in our AI policy.

Images

Pictures come from a source that permits their use, from organizations’ own submissions, or are AI-generated illustrations. Illustrations are not photographs of any real place, person or event, and news story plates, business listings and civic records never carry generated imagery.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us through the feedback form (choose “Correction”) or at [email protected].

  • When the mistake is ours — a wrong date, place, name or summary — we fix the page and the information Fiona uses.
  • When the error is in the source record itself, we point to the source and, where we can, let the issuing agency or publisher know.
  • When a publisher or organization asks us to remove a link or summary of their material, we remove it.

Every report is read by a person. Please include the page address; the feedback form adds it for you.
