So I saw yesterday’s story about the civil claims being dropped and it reminded me how lucky we are to have an area so passionate and active in business and community, which is what made me take the leap and open our pilates studio three weeks ago! 💪

Someone from Barr Farms dropped by my new studio last week (I was wearing the most uncoordinated outfit because I forgot which class I was teaching!) and stayed for a chat about how Pilates might help with riding posture, which made my day.
Looking for a reliable cleaner for our new pilates studio—floors, mirrors, the whole deal—because my husband swore he’d help, and now he’s “too busy” (he’s not), so who do you all use that’s great and shows up? Would love a recommendation!
We finally got our sign up this morning in the plaza near Winn Dixie (I was in leggings and a tank top, of course, covered in paint from touching up the studio wall), and it feels so good to see our name out there every time I drive by!
Got caught in that Turnpike slowdown (in my brand-new studio T-shirt, of course) but it gave me time to appreciate all the local businesses folks are running alongside me—if you're out there hustling too, I see you! 👏
We’ve been open just three weeks with our new pilates studio in the plaza near Fresh Market and already meeting so many of you who stop in to ask or just peek through the window (usually in riding boots!) – we’re loving it!
I finally got to check out the Shout supermarket off Wellington Trace this morning (needed snacks for the studio), and the cashier asked if I was "the pilates lady" which made my day and then some!!! Three weeks in and I already feel at home.
Nobody told me how tricky the roads around here can be—with Northlake Blvd turning busier than I'd guessed and South Dixie Highway where I turned too late (I was wearing those shoes I regret now), I say it’s a learning curve. Who’s nailed it?
Nobody told me that when you open a new shop here (we’re on North Congress by Gateway), everyone will ask if you’re ready for the season, which apparently means January but also kind of now, and I nodded like I knew!!
Nobody told me about the horse trailers everywhere, and I mean everywhere, like there’s one at every stoplight down Forest Hill Blvd this weekend, which I guess makes sense since barns are opening up for the season, but wow!! It’s kind of impressive.
