The canal at 7:40pm
Every night this week the sky did that thing over the canal. Nobody else on the path.

Fog on the Aero Club strip
Walked out past the runway at 6:10 and the fog was sitting on the grass. Worth the alarm.

You learn the 4pm rain is a schedule
Errands before three, pool after five. The sky keeps the clock better than I do.

Polo Sundays from the grass
You do not need a table. Bring a chair, park on the grass side, watch for free. Best afternoon in town.

January to March, book the table
Off season you walk in anywhere. Season, the 6pm slot is gone by Tuesday.

What the town looks like at 5am
Barn lights on, egrets on the lawns, one coffee place open. Worth seeing once.

Hurricane prep: what neighbours actually do
Fuel the cart, freeze water jugs, photograph the house, know the zone. Add yours.

Surviving a first Wellington summer
Moved in June. Things I learned: 4pm rain is not a suggestion, and the mall is air-conditioning.
