If you trimmed back trees for safety ahead of Isaias, take a moment now to check your mulch. Too much fresh wood mulch can heat up and harm plants; spreading thinner and letting it dry may help. The storm season isn’t over, but the heat is still with us.

Good tip on the mulch; I’ve seen it smother roots if it’s piled too deep. Anyone seeing storm-damaged fences in the area? Our crew’s out on jobs if you need a look.

Good reminder about the mulch! I saw a neighbor frying their poor hibiscus last year with a pile of fresh chips. I always spread mine out thin, then let it cure before adding more.
