I just planted a row of viburnum where bikes will pass for The Western Ride. Heat slowed its start. Anyone fertilize before planting or wait later?

Keeps roots from burning. If it’s a long row, check for uneven watering too.
I’d wait a bit to fertilize—that heat can scorch tender roots right off. Once it cools a touch, maybe a slow-release one, gentle-like. Did you choose viburnum for its quick bounce back?
